We want to make you aware of a change that will be taking place with regard to EMV credit card terminals for Focus and Fiserv.
- Our current recommended PAX terminal will no longer be sold to new or existing franchisees.
- The PAX terminals currently work with Focus and Fiserv via a direct EMV terminal integration into Focus.
- This integration and the PAX device certification will expire on April 30th, 2023.
- There will be no future direct integrations with Focus POS for EMV and a gateway solution will be required using a different EMV device.
- After April 30th, 2023 if stores have a PAX terminal failure they will need the new EMV terminals using the gateway for processing as noted below.
- PAX S300’s terminals will not work with the new gateway solution.
- We will be sure to send a communication to the franchisees as that date gets closer.
New EMV Terminal for Focus and Fiserv
Beginning with any orders that come in as of today, we will be transitioning to the Datacap NetEPay payment Gateway using Ingenico Lane 3000 EMV payment devices.
- Working with our Partner ERC we negotiated with Datacap, and they waived the $760 to $1,250 (depending on the number of payment devices) for the Rapid Connect software.
- Focus POS also adjusted the license key change from $850 down to $250 which is the cost to change the license key for the PAX device today.
**Payment gateway capabilities:
- Take credit cards offline if your internet or processor are having issues.
- Same day refunds on the POS.
- NFC capable – contactless payments such as Apple pay & Google wallet.
